About

Phil Johnson MBACP

Counsellor

I’ve had a varied career working in agriculture, the Armed Forces, the construction sector and local government. I’ve supported vulnerable council tenants, managed a charitable food bank and currently provide bereavement support to clients through a national charity.

Keeping fit and healthy through being active is important for my own wellbeing and I also enjoy exploring the beautiful county of the East Riding of Yorkshire. I’m a husband, father and doting grandfather.

I initially trained as a person-centred counsellor for my own personal growth. It was then I discovered I had the skills and aptitude to effectively support others in the counselling process.

In addition to my professional qualifications and counselling experience, my work is guided by the BACP ethical framework, which prioritises your welfare, choice and privacy. I also bring compassionate understanding gained through my own lived experience.
